Cagrilintide

Product Details – Cagrilintide

Cagrilintide is a synthetic peptide analog of amylin, a peptide hormone associated with metabolic signaling systems. It is structurally modified to enhance stability in controlled laboratory environments, allowing for consistent investigation in experimental settings.

In research applications, cagrilintide is utilized to study peptide-receptor interactions and signaling pathways associated with amylin receptor systems. Its structure supports detailed examination of ligand binding behavior and receptor-mediated intracellular processes.

This compound is supplied strictly for laboratory research purposes and is not intended for consumption, medical, or diagnostic use.

Mechanism of Action

At the molecular level, cagrilintide is studied for its interaction with amylin receptors (AMY receptors), which are complexes involving calcitonin receptors and receptor activity-modifying proteins (RAMPs). Upon binding, the receptor-ligand interaction initiates intracellular signaling cascades, including cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) pathway activation.

These signaling processes are analyzed in vitro to evaluate receptor activation, ligand affinity, and downstream intracellular communication. Researchers examine how receptor engagement influences signaling networks associated with peptide-mediated regulatory pathways.

Additionally, cagrilintide is investigated for its role in modulating pathways associated with gastric signaling, neuroendocrine communication, and metabolic-related receptor activity at the molecular level under controlled experimental conditions.
